Saunas, warm and cool pools, mud baths, cocktails, music and sunshine! What more could a girl ask of a spa day with her girlfriends? Overall, I had a great experience at Glen Ivy. We had a tour of the entire facility by the lovely guest relations manager. She helped us check in and directed us to the locker rooms so that we could change into our suits and cozy robes. My massage was the best part of my day! I chose to upgrade my treatment to the 50 minute Marine Mud Massage ($130 total). Warm marine mud was poured onto my back and shoulders. This is meant to relax and detoxify you while the masseuse works on your feet, legs, and arms! Then the mud is massaged onto you more and you are eventually cleaned off with a warm towel. I usually go for a basic Swedish massage, so this little add on was a treat. After the massage they suggest taking a dip in the saline pool. This helps with any soreness that you might have afterwards!

I would definitely arrive early to Glen Ivy if you plan on finding a good spot to lounge for the day. They offer a general admission pass for $50, so this makes it a little difficult to find a spot since people come just to use the pools. I do think it would be nice if they provided lounge chairs for the guests who have booked treatments. But unfortunately you have to pay extra to reserve a chair or cabana. I recommend visiting mid week if you are able to! I am an avoid the crowds at all measures type of girl.

Things You Should Bring:

Bathing Suit (I linked mine in the photos below): I chose to wear a one piece this trip because it was a little cooler. But if you plan on visiting Club Mud I would suggest a two piece so that you can get the maximum benefits of the mud all over your body! I’d suggest choosing a darker suit to wear just in case you happen to stain it a bit from the mud!
Sandals: A lot of people walk around barefoot but this just isn’t something that I am in to at a day spa! During the summer months, I imagine that the grounds also get pretty hot!
SPF: You are in the sun all day unless you have a treatment and or are lucky enough to snag an umbrella. Make sure that you bring plenty of sunscreen to protect your skin! I was just introduced Hint Sunscreen. It smells like Grapefruit and it's oxybenzone and paraben-free. Definitely give this a try.
